Turns Out I Do Have Willpower!

Went to TSC to get supplies for my chicks that are coming in the 11th and there they were a big washtub of fuzzy butts. I don't know where it came from, but I managed to leave without any. It was hard to move on without bringing any home, but I did it. There were sex link chicks, that the guy working there kept calling red broilers, and black and white striped chicks that I think were Barred Rocks.

Good for you! I went to my local feed and seed today and also came home empty handed. All they had were Dominekers. If they had had any buff orps, I wouldn't have had the willpower. I did bring home a Sterlite container (to use as a brooder), a 125 watt bulb with reflector and clamp, a 2 1/2 ft. square of 1/2 in hardware cloth, and a wooden dowel to clamp the light on. Shipments of chicks come to my feed store every Thursday, but they never know what they're going to get! I'll be there every Thursday until the BOs arrive.

I went to our Rural King today to get supplies and expected I would probably come home with a few chicks.

They were suppose to have straight run, heavy assortment chicks for .99.

Boy was I lucky, the shipment was late and won't be here till tomarrow!

Hmmmm, Bossman called and gave me an extra day off tomorrow (supposed to rain all day, don't need full staff) I WONDER what the CoOp and TSC have?

not really willpower, but I went to the feed store today to see if they might have some Orps ... only thing I could see was Cornish-X ... about a week old I would say (the remainder of the 200 they got in on Feb 28?)

instead went and looked at the Ameraucanas that were for sale on Craigslist ...

didn't buy any HENS, but came home with 9 EGGS ... 8 of them a pretty pale aquamarine ... one probably from the BR ... nice and brown

do I hatch them or do I eat them ... hmmmm ... (roo is a BR)

I'm lucky, I went to the feed store to buy some more Buff Orpingtons and bought 3 more day-olds.

No willpower for me!

I am picking up 105 chicks at the P.O. Tuesday Rick. Fifty are for me alone. I'll have to build a new coop if I keep it up.

Hmmm..a little wood..a few nails..Not a bad idea entirely

but really, it is sad not to bring them home.

Speaking of coops, I have to build mine this weekend! Need to have it done before the Cascade Show on the 15th.

Yeah..I got that. Your building in less than a coop in a week? You need to come for a visit, I've got all kinda stuff I need done.


Hmmm..you can start with the new chicken run, then there is the goats shed and i need a stachion build...oh and I have some good plans for a chicken tractor and theres the horse's run in shed that is missing a wall and theres.....
