TV for chickens... More eggs? True or False?

Discussion in 'Managing Your Flock' started by matthewschickens, Oct 25, 2010.

  1. The other day a friend told me that if you let your chickens watch TV for about a half hour each day, at about lunch time, they'll lay more eggs for you. I told him I didn't think that was correct but then wanted to know for sure. So, is it true or not?

    Thanks!

I've never heard this and since most chickens are kept outside, I'd say there are very few instances where this would even be feasible. I think that your friend was probably just messing with you. [IMG]

Why don't you try an eggperiment? LOL

Wait--is it HD or just regular TV? Any channels in particular?

Just make sure you change the channel if a KFC commercial comes on. They might stop laying all together if they saw that! [IMG]

Mine just forget about laying and fight over the remote. [IMG]

    Is your friend a prankster?

Seems ridiculous, but chickens are ridiculous. Give it a try and let us know. I would use an old TV. The dust might kill it.

Around here in the south you would have to add

    Popeyes (fried chicken)

    Raising Canes (chicken too) [IMG]

They might lay more eggs, but I'm sure it would spoil their meat and lower their IQ's.
