I have this huge white bag of food service beans a friend insisted upon giving us. They appear to be freeze dried and do contain salt. How could I dilute them to an acceptable salt level? I would like to add some to their warm morning treat slop (oatmeal, safflower seed, yogurt).

i would soak them overnight then throw out the water they are in and then cook for about 3 hours with a lot of water, put a sliced potatoe in at hour 2 when they finish cooking , either eat the potatoe yourselfr or throw it out then feed beans to the chickies.
