Two hens. Not sure what they are.

    Black with orange neck

Buff looking hen. Before the molt she looked rough but now she's amazing. I love her little muffs.

Somewhere along the line, your buff orp was likely mixed with an EE or Ameraucana! Shes lost all the traits except the muffs and beard.

The orange one is a mix or BO & a bearded fowl.

Yep, Black Sexlink/Star (I have one that looks almost identical!) and a Buff Orpington mix -- possibly with Easter Egger or Ameraucana. Pretty girls! [IMG]

Quote:Basically, the term "sex link" means that the sex can be determined as soon as they hatch by their color. Sex links do not breed true, however, so they cannot be used in breeding. If you want to learn more about them, check out this thread -- https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=261208. It has so much helpful information. [IMG]

Black Sexlinks are a cross between a barred female and a non-barred male, which makes all the male offspring be barred like the mother, and the females are black with gold leakage. The males hatch out black with a white spot on their heads, like Barred Rocks, and the females are solid black. Red Sexlinks are a cross between a female with a dominant silver allele and a male with 2 recessive gold alleles. This cross causes the males to hatch out white and the females a reddish gold.

The last one looks like a BO with something bearded mixed in. The black one is pretty neat looking too and I will go along with the consensus here that it's a sex-link.

Also, not sure but the legs on the BO and barred friends look a little "rough" right at the bottom of the shank. Might need to dust 'em for leg mites.
