I have to sick ducks they are about 8 weeks old one is more sick then the other. Very Weezy and tilts head to the side a lot, now the other is head tilting. They both use to love to swim in there pool but now do not get in at all. The one still does not have all it's feathers and the last time he was in the pool he did not look like the water was beefing off like it use to he just looked like a wet duck. Other activity is fine they waddle and run around eat and drink fine they are free rang for the day and in at night. I have chickens as wail and don't want them to get sick. I have tried to take then to a vet but I guess no vet in my town will see a duck :( so I have no idea where or how to get them Medicean any help or ideas would be so great

This happened to my pekin duck and i was told by a local farmer to add a spoon full of honey to a 16oz cup of water mixed with niacin. By the next day my pekin was fine.

I crushed 1/4 of the niacin pill and mixed it into the water and added the tea spoon of honey then mixed all together

Niacin deficiency can cause a number of problems. Please keep us posted.

I would start putting 150 mg of niacin per gallon of water in their drinking water. The wheezing - that could be from a respiratory infection in which case antibiotics would be the way to go.

Thank you for your help, can you tell me if there is anyway to get antibiotics with out a vet? As I have no vets who will see them.
There's are antibiotics available at feed stores, penicillan . tetracycline, tylan 50 and 200 but unless you know for sure what your dealing with it's hard to say which one would be best. can they wash their faces in deep water all the time, especially when eating.?

Yes they have access to their pool throughout the day and we have a big tub of water that goes in with them at night that their whole head can fit in. :)
I went to tractor supply which is the only feed type store we have in this town and they had no antibiotics of any kind or niacin :bow
I have been putting VetRx in there drinking water at night for over a week and have been putting it in their nostrils and down their mouth for the last four days but the Peking is still really wheezy sounding. Can ducks have allergies because where I live this is like the allergy capital everyone has bad allergy this time of year here in the Vally but can ducks have allergies? :idunno That's why I'm trying to find local honey, they say local honey helps with local allergy's and since Mvpitzki suggested I try honey I thought the local would be best.
