I bought a batch of polish chicks from the Ideal Hatchery and as warmers I got five of the strangest, fluffiest, tamest chicks I had ever seen. Sadly, a stray cat claimed the lives of two of them and I only have the space to keep one.

EDIT: Thanks, Lanissa. These are Light Brahma Roosters!

They've been handled since birth and are friendly even to the other smaller chicks. They're perfect for family pets and are fine with being held and petted. I've never seen a chicken behave this calmly, much less a little rooster! I'd hate to see these guys go to a home where they could be eaten. [IMG]

I believe they're about five or six weeks old.

And here's a picture of what they'll look like when they grow up!

The left is a standard and the right is a bantam. These boys are standard and will get to be a whopping 9lbs! I just don't have the space for roos that big around my polish chickens. [IMG]

[IMG] Yeah that's pretty far away. A nice plot of land and some ladies is just what I had in mind for these special guys, though!

I just don't want them to be eaten. [IMG]

hahaha nah if we could get them, they wouldn't be eaten. We keep our big ones, hatch the babies and then sell our babies. We've been looking for a couple of brahma males, the one we have went blind last year and he couldn't find his mark if we showed it to him. lol

I don't know too much about shipping them, but would that interest you at all?
