The Barred Holland (yep it's a holland) is a cockerel. [IMG]

The second one is interesting, but I'd say it is a . . . Well I'm not sure. Do you have a side-profile photo of it? Its comb looks like a pea comb.

I would say it's more likely the barred is a Plymouth Rock, unless you got them from a hatchery or breeder and know for sure what they are. Hollands are pretty rare. It's a roo, btw.

The only thing I could think of is a rose combed Ancona, seeing as how the comb isn't a straight comb - which, to my limited knowledge of the breed, is hard to find. But I wouldn't be sure of that. It looks roo-ish to me.... do you have a picture of it's saddle feathers/tail.

    Thanks for the welcome patman75.

Must be a barred Holland then! I'm not sure about the second picture...I thought maybe a poor attempt at a Partridge Chantecler? The legs are wrong though...and very thick....

It looks to have brown on it as well??

The second one is not pure Speckled Sussex; they have single combs. Did you order the Mystery Assortment? I saw this quote on Sandhill's website: "The Mystery Assortment is chickens only. Occasionally we have extras from genetic crossing experiments." Maybe yours is one of their experiments. Speckled Sussex x ?
