Poor Chocolate (English) hen, she had such a bad molting spell,
she looked so sad, but actually feathered in beautifully.
We named her Pickles. She has since never molted so badly.

This is Andalasia (Andi). She isn't really ugly, she's actually quite beautiful, but she isn't good as posing for pictures! She's flying over my legs and blinking, so it looks like she's pretending to be a zombie!


This is Ocean. She grew up beautiful, but she was born with seemingly only pin feathers. I was sure she was part turkey or something when she was young, because she had nearly no feathers on her neck and her body feathers were thinner too. Her father may have been a naked-neck silkie, but she does not have a naked neck or silkied feathers when she grew up, or feathered legs or five toes. I named her Ocean because she constantly looked like she was wet when she was young.
