Ugliest "egg" I've ever seen

    I went out to get eggs this afternoon and found this. It looks like a yoke with lumps in it.
    Anybody have any idea what it is?

    can you perhaps get a better angle? it looks like orange chicken from here...


    check out "infected chicken ovaries" in the search engine for this forum.. that is the only thing i can think of

    OH, gosh, honey - I don't think that's an egg. It appears to be tissue...could be part of one of your girls' repro systems that came out! They can expel an ovary - it's unusual, but does happen. I wonder if that's what this is?

    ETA: do all your girls seem okay? Anyone looking puffed up or not feeling well?
