* She started up with the "warning" clucking the minute I walked into the room with it. When I actually started SWEEPING, she went a little nuts-- including a very impressive 4ft vertical leap at one point!!!

My chickens have been afraid of EVIL BROOM since they were very little. It came in very handy when they were young. It was only that one broom, not all brooms.

* One more excuse not to get too "into" the whole cleaning thing!!

There's an old poem that I've adapted since having chickens:

Dusting and cleaning can wait till tomorrow
For chicks grow up we've learned to our sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep
I'm playing with my chicks and chicks don't keep

I thought it was children, not chick(en)s, but it works either way, doesn't it?? I'll take any excuse I can get-- the kids are gone, so the chickens will have to do!!! "Oh, sorry about the house, I have a chicken in quarantine that requires A LOT of observation. . . "

It was originally meant for children. I just adapted it.
Today I've been really busy! I've been on BYC, played with my chickens, back on BYC, played with my chickens.....
I have company coming this weeked. I was just informed of this late last night.

Oh well, why bother? The 2 yr. old GS is just gonna make it look like a tornado went thru here anyhow.
If it gets to bothering me too much, I'll just go play with my chickens!
