Hi there, Any ideas on what's going on with this chicken would be greatly appreciated. She's over a year old. Thought she was egg bound because of being unbalanced. Have given all sorts of remedies for that - not it. Have seen on here posts about it being a possible vitamin deficiency. Have been giving kids poly-vits and pediatlite for 4 days now. Still walking like below. She's eating, drinking, foraging, trying to groom, but is still walking unbalanced, sometimes her toes will curl and she'll walk on knuckles until she gets them uncurled somehow. Running out of ideas on how to help her - not sure what kind of quality of life this is if she doesn't improve. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions!
Welcome to BYC. Riboflavin or vitamin B2 deficiency can be a cause of curled toes. Does she have any weakness or paralysis? I would probably give her some high potency all B tablets dissolved in her water. You can't overdose B vitamins--they are excreted in the urine. Yes, definitely weakness and the occiasional paralysis. I guess specifically B vitamin supplements will be the next option. Thanks!
Did she have a Mareks vaccine? Mareks might also be considered as a cause, but I would first treat with vitamins.
