So I bought 4 chicks at the same time and 1 of them isn't growing. She had some health issue a few weeks ago (lethargic/poor balance etc) that resolved after sulmet and vitamins. I tried yogurt (which none of the chicks were interested in) and also added a higher protein mash in addition to grower mash. I've also given some scrambled eggs, worms, and cat food for added protein. She is eating and drinking (and no longer showing signs of illness) but just isn't growing at the rate that the other chicks are. She does keep more to herself and is the friendliest with me of the bunch, but didn't think that was alarming. I'm new to raising chicks so any and all the help I can get I'll take!!!!!

NorCalChicks101-Didn't see your previous posting or pix. She is a 4-5month old Colombian Rock. Just surprising how small she is compared to the other chicks we got at the same time. Did you do anything different to treat her? Any improvements for your chick?

She has gotten ALOT better since I first started treatment.

My thoughts are that it was most likley coccidiosis. It also could have been/be a crop issue.

She is slowly gaining weight, although she still does not eat as much as the others. Will wait till she is more up to their weight before I reintroduce um.

Also my girls did not like yogurt either. I did find she still loves meal worms and SMALL pieces of whole wheat grain bread crust. (Only feed bread in small amounts @ a time. & not too often)

It was for the most part a very mild winter, that means that a lot of the bad things in the ground didnt get frozen and die so this year looks to be very bad for worms and other stuff that isnt too good for our chickens.

If she is eating and not gaining weight it sounds like worms.....

Here is a link that might help http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-get-rid-of-internal-parasites-in-your-chick.html

We were all new to chickens at one point or another and that is why we come here to learn from each other.

Hope this helps
