It's
from 7-11. This is big time chicken country so I would assume this is a pretty big shin-dig. Krypto and I are making the road trip from the eastern panhandle of WV... about 2 hrs... if we're lucky

Im bringing a mille fluer cochin roo, some rosecomb youngsters and a mottled cochin pair.

Is anyone else coming? If so, what are you bringing?

So it's only a $1 per vehicle? No fee for bringing birds?

If so, gosh I'll probably be able to bring coturnix quails, maybe a silkie chick or two.....mostly interested in seeing what others have!

The mille roo came all the way from California but I have another nice roo and have a good looking cockerel so Im cutting down on the roos. I'll take a pic of him tonight. He's already showing good looking type for mille fleur but he has a lot of black in him. He's F2 generation ...F1 being birds out of mille cochin roo over Tom Roebuck's buff columbian hens. I may have a pullet to go with if I can sex them in time... hatching a few now.

I was thinking $20 a bird .. they are rare but still need work.

My mottleds are bred by Jamie Matts. I had them sold a couple times but I live in BFE and couldn't hook up with anyone. Im asking $30 a bird.. what I paid. You can see pics of them on my page and also on the cochin breed page https://www.backyardchickens.com/breeds/breed-chart

I
would love to keep them but I don't have the room. I hatched out a pullet to work on type with my milles but now need their coop:) Warning: Jamie AI's all of his birds and you will need to do that or trim them heavily. I trimmed early this year and hatched a couple eggs:( I have some in the bator right now but haven't trimmed in a while so Im not very hopeful.

Im going to call Ed or Steve and see what the regulations are... if we need npip or Avian Influenza testing. See ya there!

I just spoke with the guy who does the swap and it is $2 per vehicle charge to sell all the birds and poultry parafinelia you have and no testing requirements for in-state birds!!

Im already having a minor anxiety attack thinking of selling these birds.

I've been going round and round with these guys but they need to go. I can get some more when I have the land. I'll hold them for you. ... and just pay me at the swap.

btw- what are the biggest variety of quail that you have... I've been really considering starting up a pen on my fathers farm for some good eats.
