    Hello,
I am looking for the most unusual (unique) chicken you know or have seen.
You see, I might show a couple of chickens at our local fair this year, and along with my Silkies, I would like to find another cool breed.
I have heard that Ayam Cemani birds (ALL BLACK!) are really cool, but also pretty painful to your pocket. So, I would like to hear from you and I need ideas for the most odd, beautiful, unusual, unique, you name it bird you know.
    Let me know! [IMG]
    Hints:
I love the following in a chicken:
    -fluffy
    -kind
    -tolerant
    -beautiful
    -feather footed
    -banties
BUT, I will settle for other characteristics.
    Thank you many!

The breed that matches your criteria perfectly are Cochin bantams. Here are few of mine I owned in the past.
They are fairly common, and so usually not very straining on your wallet.

Those. Are. Gorgeous. I was seriously looking at those, too. Do they get very big? The white one is so beautiful. Where do you get your chicks/chickens? Or do you breed your own? Thank you for sharing! [IMG]-VA

He's so cute! Rosecombs are part of the Bantam breeds aren't they? I love your bird![IMG]

Yes Black Rosecombs are considered a true bantam. btw, he isn't mine, i took the pic at the fair. It's a breed I'd like to have in the future. There are forums discussing this breed, and most likely any others you are interested in.....good luck, and let us know what you get!

I second this. [IMG] Although I highly recommend Rosecombs (I own and breed them) I have to say it cost a very pretty penny to purchase my starting flock.
