This one came from a mixed bantam bin. Can anyone ID the breed and possible gender? He/she is very sweet and mild mannered. I'm praying it's a pullet!

Comb looks very small like a pullets would, breeds a little tougher....

Could you please get photos In better light? I can't see eyes or comb color. How old?? Is she pure black or does she have some other color showing in her feathers? What color legs does she have?

About 5 weeks old. All black feathers with white under her chin. Eyes appear very dark and her comb is black/ light flesh colored. Legs/feet are black. [IMG]

The white on her chest is just her baby fluff, should be solid black there once she gets all of her feathers in :)

Looks like one of those American Cemani black fleshed birds that they've been breeding here in the US. they kind of developed like a twin brother to the real thing.

Cemani's are very expensive birds, chances are its a hatchery bird or barnyard mix bird and not an expensive show-type bird :)

The American version that's been recreated goes for as little as $5 a bird . Saw them for sale for that price on byc.

But do hatcheries and feedstores have them?
