I found a solid mass in the nesting box this morning. It feels rubbery and looks like a gizzard. None of the girls are acting sick. I don't see a place to upload pictures or I would.

Without photos - by the way, this is how to add photos: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/inserting-pics-in-on-the-new-byc -- the best guess from the description you've written is a lash egg. You can find a lot of information on that here on BYC: https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=lash+egg

I think it is a lash egg! I've never heard of it before. I'm just thankful it wasn't her gizzard! I keep watching it see if she was going to fall over. Bless her heart, she is getting old and wants to keep up with the younger girls. She will go and sit in the nest and produce nothing. However, in her prime she produced super jumbo eggs every day. I tell her she has a new job now, keeping the young girls straight. She is great at that. :D
