This is an adopt me from Meyers pretty sure its a cockerel which is ok, as adopt me are always straight run and ive managed 3 orders of all pullets getting 2-3 each time..anyway, i am not sure what he is..i am guessing a maran but cochin.

he appears to be blueing now, i originally thought he was another maran, ( i had 2 bcms) from the order, but as it started growing, he is bigger than the 2 marans, very easy going.. definitly starting to look blue not black, although none of the pictures show this and i realize i probably need to get better pictures.his feet are more webbed than any chicken i have had. He is more heavily feathered on his legs than some ive had

They dont appear as heavily feathered as my partidge bantams probably more like my d'uccle bantam or my lt brahma..

Thanks
Nicole

Ok well maybe my 1st instinct was right..it just seems very heavily leg feathered compared to the bcm but nothing like the cochins and is absolutely blueing
It is a white skinned bird. That rules out Cochin. It has reddish feathers at the neck, so that too isn't right for a black or blue Cochin. It could be some type of hatchery hybrid, but Meyer's doesn't seem to offer any of the Marans type hybrids like some other hatcheries do. I'm not sure what to make of blue coloring. Meyer's offers blue birchen Marans, but they should have silvery colored feathers at the net, not reddish colored feathers. It may be easier to see what's going on when it is older.

I went back to read meyers, they only have 1 blue that has white skin, blue cuckoo

The blue copper have yellow, the blue birchen black/slate

All Marans have white skin. That is a breed trait. I'm not talking about leg color, but you can generally tell skin color by looking at the underside of the feet. Yellowish=yellow skin White or Pinkish=white skin.
