we have lost 2 hens in a couple of weeks, the first 1 had its intestine ripped out through its butt hole, 2nd one seemed to almost have the same thing, couldnt really see anything, but alot of poop coming out, a friend told me he has had weasels doing this to his hens. is this common, or do i have another problem? the rest of the hens body is in perfect condition

That's an opposum. That's the only way they seem to kill.

we do have quite a few around here, what would they be wanting to do trying to get into a chicken that way? doesnt seem to be feeding off of them, just destroying them

You have to understand what a opposum is. They are buzzards on four legs. I've seen them come out of dead mules, cows and such, and every time they come out the same way they went in. Through the back end. The chickens of mine they killed they seem to have sucked all the blood and ate the waste product of the bird. That's just the kind of animal they are.
