until what age can a roo mate or fertilize eggs?

I have a roo and i never saw him mating. All of his attempts were unsuccessful. He looks old and i dont know his age. Do old roos stop mating?

Just as with humans or any other animal, it varies from individual to individual. Some roosters become sterile and others have physical problems - overweight, arthritis, massive spurs, etc - that make it more difficult for them to mate. Have you checked any of your eggs to see if they have the 'bulls eye' which indicates fertility.

Thanks for the reply. I'll candle the eggs on its day 8 which will be on thursday. I hope it will be fertile.
