It is official!

At the 2012 National Meet of the American Bantam Assn. the 100th anniversary of the ABA show was awarded to The OHIO NATIONAL Poultry Show. This will be three day show held November 7,8 & 9, 2014.

Promising to be the next "big event" in the exhibition poultry world it could also be the last one for quite some time. All the talk centers around 10,000 as the number of entries expected. There is nothing else on the horizon that suggests the possibility of a show this big.

Although it is to early to make hotel reservations is is not a moment to soon to be thinking about what you are going to show. Every year we pretty much put our hopes on the young birds. Showing old birds is often a matter of what looks pretty good gets loaded on the truck.

But with the awards being offered for displays -
From The OHIO NATIONAL Website
The champion in each of the seven classes of bantams for the 2013 Ohio National will be eligible to win $100 if they repeat this same level in the 2014 show. There will be $500 cash award for a champion display in each of the seven classes of bantams if they repeat this same level in the 2014 show. And to make the deal even sweeter if the exhibitor is using the American Bantam Association leg bands on their birds, the award will grow by an additional $100. Another words you must have wins at the Ohio National in 2013 and 2014 years to be eligible for these awards.

Thought should be given to this years hatch regarding those birds prospects as the senior members of the show string in 2014. And which birds to condition for 2013. The winning displays will be decided by the weight of the old birds and the trios added to points won by the young birds.

Being the exhibitor of the top display in the class two years in a row - first at the 2013 OHIO NATIONAL and then at the 100th anniversary show of the ABA in 2014 . . . . sounds like the work and distinction of a Grand Master Breeder to me.

WOW! that sounds great! How do you ship birds to a show? in Express mail boxes like normal? I would like to show our birds at the ohio national- but who receives them and feeds them? How does that work? thanks
