Ok, this is my first incubation and hatch in my HovaBator 1588. I didn't even have a thermometer in there the first 18 days. I put a Fluker's Thermo/Hygro in there when I took the turner out. The Fluker's registers 95* so I figured I would be a few days late hatching at lower temps but I left things alone just to find out what would happen. Well, today is day 21 and so far I have 3 pips from 12 eggs! I'll keep you posted.

congrats! I had a thermometer in my 1588 (first hatch in it too) the whole time and the bator's built-in thermostat seemed very accurate... the thermo always read around 100. maybe your thermo/hygro was off? my electric thermo/hygro always seems to read a couple degrees under the old-fashioned one.

This Fluker's is brand new- I pulled the strip from it and dropped it in when I took the turner out. [IMG]

Some of those Flukers are, well, "flukey". I had to return my first one. The second one is right on the money. Hope they all hatch!

7 pips now and one chick hatched already! I'm sure that by morning I'll have several more. [IMG]
