It started with one dark dun roo over 4 hens, 2 black, 1 light dun and 1 splash..The babies are starting to come of age now and I must say I am in love with the khaki's, all the colors from this breeding are nice but the khaki's really stand out...

    Pretty birds. [IMG]

What is platinum? Is it a combination of I^D & something else?

Beautiful birds! I love seeing color projects as they're very interesting. I really like the platinum coloring. Very nice! Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks everyone!! [IMG] This has been fun..I had seen my first dun Sumatra a year or so ago, but had no idea that it (the dun) would make such beautiful colors [IMG]

Quote:Dun works the same way as blue, so 2 blue genes equal splash, 2 dun genes make khaki the dun equal of splash (more or less) when a bird get one copy of dun and one copy of blue it comes out platinum, not quite blue, not quite dun but you can see both colors in the right light..

You have been a busy girl, no wonder you've been so quiet lately. What a unique and gorgeous group. I can see why you were so excited about these a while back. Wow...
