If you don't remember me posting about two girls I got from a breeder that were in super rough shape, here's a before picture.

It's been awhile since I've posted an update on them so here are some current pictures of the gals!

I did have to rehome my drake, Chomper because he was just too aggressively fond of them, I took him to a new home where he will have a few girls to himself.

Anywho, Lucy & Ethel now accept treats and get in the pool! They even pick on their little sister Pipsqueak (the mallard in the picture). So crazy to see them go from bare patches, ugly feathers, and frothy eye disease to fat and sassy rulers of the coop!

Big improvement but once again I ask, how do you get a clean picture of a Pekin ?

Mine stay pretty clean! As you can see their boyfriend, Paddles has some really sleek feathers (I've had him since he was 2 days old) but he's such a snob he spends half the day in the pool and the other half "grooming" his feathers!

What an amazing transformation! Such lucky and beautiful girls! Your Mallards look so tiny next to them :gig

Btw, is it just the difference in lighting, or did their bills even turn a deeper richer orange with proper nutrition/care?
