I woke up to six new chicks in the incubator! And shortly after, my only little bantam hatched!! Yea! I have 3 eggs left in there, one is pipped and peeping. [IMG] I have some concern for one of my chicks. She is black, except for 2 stripes along her back, which are kind of bald-and her skin is really pinkish-red. She seems kind of immature-have any of you ever seen this lack of down before?

Is she dry and fluffed up or still wet and matted down? All my chicks have a lot of skin showing when the first hatch but it will get covered up as they dry out and the down is able to "Fluff". Otherwise never heard anythign concerning genuine bald spots on chickens. unless they are bred that way like naked necks and such.
