Peepless as I named her has passed. [IMG]A couple hours after placing my 5 buckeye chicks in the brooder, I found one on it's back dead, and another on it's back struggling ... I brought it back in to the incubator for a day and a half. I noticed it couldn't peep. She looked great, snuggled with me last night when i was watching TV, drank and ate a little. I went ahead and took her back to the brooder, which was down by 2 chicks now that were getting bigger so safer. I just found her drowned in the water bowl. I know chances are she had more issues than just being mute, but I can;lt help but wonder if I could have raised her inside the house longer and gotten her to a point where she would have made it.

Sorry. I always hope the weak ones somehow make it, too.

it always throws me off when I find one dead. This one hit me a little harder than usual. [IMG]
