So this red speckled Sussex has been going back & forth on cockerel or pullet. It’s coloring is brighter then my other 2 pullets & it’s comb & waddles have been larger & more red then the other 2. They’re now 17 weeks old & their molting their juvenile feathers like crazy. All of them seem to be coming back in rounded but would love a second opinion please.

I have limited experience, of course, as I removed my cockerel when he was about 12 weeks, and my little girl is only a month old.

They're basically the same, temperamentally. Both loved to forage, and especially go for bugs of all sorts. A mouse got into the run when the boy was perhaps 5 weeks, and my BO and EE ran away; he ran right up to it and pecked it. I'm sure he would have killed it if I had let him, and my little girl is the same way.

They both also love to cuddle. My girl comes when I call her. I liked the breed enough to want to try again after I had the mis-sexed one.
