My turkey that almost died of heat stroke last Sunday has developed a complication, albeit hopefully a minor one.

Since he started to recover last Sunday evening, his snood has been very droopy and extended, and rather pale in color. It seems to bother him -- it flops around his face and he actually sort of tosses his head -- reminds me of a person with long hair getting in their face.

The tip of it, perhaps the bottom half inch, now is black and appears to be dead tissue. I assume this must be a result of lack of blood flow during the heat stroke/seizure.

At this point, I'm not going to don anything, because it doesn't appear in infected/gangrenous, and actually looks to be drying up.

I hope it will heal itself, and any dead itussue will fall off on its own.

If not, I guess it would have to be surgically removed?
