Some have asked about the little black hen Steven rescued last year around this time, Charlotte. She is doing great, she'll try and hatch anything she can sit on, and she is very prolific. She and LaRoo have the same beautiful gold feathers around their necks, his hackles and her high lights! I'm going to try and get the two of them together and see what they can come up with in the way of beautiful little yard ornaments. They both have the same little 5 toes, their bodies are very similar and they are both tiny little things.
Here she is today and ignore Steven's still swollen face.....

Oh, what a pretty girl! She's a mutt right? :3 I'm predicting a cochin/silkie mix. Hope she hatches a nice big brood for ya!

Well we got a pen for the two of them close to finished yesterday, but back to work today and a wind advisory too! I think La Roo likes the idea a lot,, Charlotte I'm not so sure, she seems attached to Little Foot the little Barred Cochin Roo.

Kate, she looks very much like my three PoufyHead Sisters. Their sire was a standard Cochin/Silkie cross and their mama was a Barred Rock. She could be the fourth one, a sister to Kate, Tux and Olivia. Here's Olivia:

Thank you! You couldn't ask for a better feathered incubator!

    Wow!
I'll have to take a picture of Mystery chicken. She could be Charlotte's little sister....

I'd love a couple more Charlotte's,, I'd never have to use an incubator!
