So I’m still not sure on Peanuts gender. I’ve had mixed responses when I’ve posted before so just wondered whether anything is looking clearer now at 12 weeks? Thanks x

This is a tricky one for me! I'm just learning this so whatever I say is an absolute pinch of salt! I'm erring on the side of pullet even though it's quite red already it's comb is very small still.

I don't know much about Orpingtons either so maybe the breed show differently but Pullet is my guess.

Thank you. S/he really has me guessing. One minute I think definitely a Roo, then the next I’m thinking it could still be a pullet. Arghh they should grow little pink or blue feathers so we know 😂

Thanks everyone, what makes you think cockerel? Would really help me to know as this one had me really confused 🤷‍♀️

It’s mainly his comb at the age he is, it looks pretty pink for a pullet. Also, I’m sure if you looked under his wings and look for saddle feathers, you’d find them

Here’s a picture of a pullet (hen) and cockerel (rooster)!

You can see how red the cockerels comb is vs the pullets. They are both the same age, around a 6-ish weeks (I think)

Please don’t mind the roosters leg, he has a slipped tendon when super young and it wasn’t able to be fixed (I got him later on, he was my neighbors at first)
