Updates on my little Bonnie girl (BIG PIX)

10 days ago we got rid of 7 roosters. Why? Because this happened!

She's doing well now, it's not infected but once she's well enough to take the stitching out we're gonna have to give her a bath. Boy, will that be an adventure.

my dad commented that he thought she was gonna die...

I'm really glad it didn't get infected, but feel sorry for the poor girl!

I have stayed away from Rooster's in general because I'm worried he might be agressive towards the girls..but I just ordered one rooster for 12 girls...crossing my finger's I won't have any problems!

well this was caused by an extreme excess of roos so i don't think 1 roo could do this.

I am considering getting a blue bantam cochin frizzle rooster for my 12 standard hens. How far do small roosters crows carry? how loud are they? and will he be able to keep my hens in line? Will he rip them up like this?

Some roosters dont know when to stop. We put all the roos in a pen over winter and right as some of the favorite hens were all feathered up we put the roos out and they are bald again.
