Hi,
I'm now a member of BackYard Chickens. I'm looking for two young laying hens if anyone has some. I bought from a woman named Jodi who lives in Langley, but I've lost that contact!
I have two hens, and am looking for two more. I started with 4 hens in May 2015. My experience has been generally positive, loving the hens, and learning as I go. My Vancooper is from Dunken's backyard henhouse, Vancouver. I bought my coop second hand off craigslist. With a new roof and a foundation, it works as good as new. The henhouse is on the sunniest spot in the yard, however it is shaded by fruit trees and a grapevine trellis. I hand raised pullet, 2 Orphington's, Amerucana and reds. I have three dogs, there are several cats in the neighborhood, raccoons, rats and a nest of hawks in the local proximity. So far, I've really conquered the rat and raccoon issue by being as inhospitable as possible. The cats and hawks are noteworthy predators because there isn't much I can do about them.
SO, I'm looking for two young hens,
Happy hen husbandry,
Deb
