New chick has been trying to hatch all day. The shell has been off for hours. Just stuck in the membrane and that was dried out. I took the chick inside and dampened down the membrane to loosen it up again. The chick started kicking free. Put it back with mom. Mom ate the rest of the membrane and was pecking at it's behind to break that connection. Pecked too much. Chick looks like it might be raw on the behind now. I removed it from mom and put it under the heat lamp with my other chicks that are a day old. Suggestions? What can I do for this chick? It's still damp and eyes are still closed.
