I had a 5 quart waterer with the water nipples on the bottom installed in my brooder since they kept knocking over their ground one, but my mom forgot to put the lid on it when I refilled it. The geese jumped into the bucket and made it fall right on top of my favorite Turkey! Hes alive and nothing is broken, but when I first lifted it off of him he was gasping for air. It only fell about 2 inches but was right on the upper half of his body. At first he was extremelt limp and I thought he was dying, but now he is standing up but his head is hanging and his eyes closed. He is slightly shivering. He's not trying to move at all other than standing, and his wings are hanging limp. He seems to be breathing okay. Is he in shock? Could something have collapsed inside him? What do I do? Right now I have him sitting outside and I'm holding his head up for him. Theres a farm vet about 10 minutes away but I don't know how much they would charge! Help!

Oops, it looks like no-one reponded soon enough to help.

How did things go with the baby turkey?

I would give him some power punch(if they have that for turkeys) or some sugar water just they him back on his feet. We had a turkey almost drown last year, and gave him CPR that saved his life... mouth to beak isn’t very fun by the way 😅😁Hope he feels better soon!

I loaded his water with electrolytes and let him drink a bit and rest. I think he had his oxygen restricted for a bit? It landed right on where his lungs are and on his head. Im pretty sure if the flooring was solid and not wire then he would've died due to nowhere else for that impact to disperse. I really thought he was going to die! He was completely limp, eyes rolled back and only taking gasping breaths when i first got the bucket off of him

We had a newborn puppy die from lung damage due to the 125lb dog momma sit on him.. it was probably just a lot of shock and also the bucket falling right there. Best of luck and let him go easy for a while!😁
