urgent!! hawk got baby chicken but she's alive

Hi,
MY friends baby chicken just got picked up by a hawk. It dropped her and there is no blood. She's blinking and breathing but not moving. Trying to get into a vet- any advice on how to help her now?

Can she move at all, or does she appear paralyzed? Keep her warm for now. If she's not injured internally, she's probably in shock. If you have a heat lamp, you can set her up under that.

You can also gently wrap her in a towel to keep her warm. How far did she fall?

Sorry about your friend’s pullet. I hope that she survives. Hawks are a fact of life in the country. They are not as dangerous to grown chickens, but young ones are so vulnerable. Hawks can pound them when they attack, and cause internal injuries besides the talon injuries.
