Vacation prep ?

I am preparing for an 8 day trip and am doing all I can think of to keep my flock happy and healthy until my return.

Here is what I have done so far:
* hanging self-replenishing feed container w/layer mash, corn & BOSS
* 3 gallon refilling waterer
* seed/grit/oyster shell block (about 10x10x10 inch) for something to keep them busy
* 8 straw bales stacked at different heights for some variety of view from the pen
* my friend/letter carrier (a fellow chicken lady) who will stop once a day to check on everyone and refill as needed

Anything else that I should add?

I like to add a second water source and make it a bowl, just in case the first one would get knocked over, leak or empty because it wasn't perfectly level. I'm always paranoid.

I second the idea of another waterer in case something goes wrong w/the first. No experience w/chickens here but rabbits. Whatever can go wrong will go wrong if you don't plan a back-up.

A bowl is what I usually have in there for them but bought a waterer to be on the safe side... both it is then.
