vaccines??

    I ordered my 7 chicks yesterday. [​IMG] I did check the box to have them vaccinated for Mareks. Are there any other vaccines I should give? We are in a pretty suburban area, but back up to a drainage ditch and retention pond. The neighbors have ducks, we get a handful of other types of water birds and all the typical wild birds. We have raccoons and opossum, hawks and owls. I am hoping to free range several times a week for a short period. Nobody in the family comes in contact with other chickens....... Thanks!!

    You might consider fowl pox vaccine. Fowl pox is mainly carried by mosquitos. Jefferslivestock.com carries the vaccine, of course it's up to you whether you wish to purchase it or not. Here's a link to vaccines and another link to vaccine failure in poultry:

    Are Marek's and fowl pox both one time vaccines?

    Also, my 6 rir's are 23 weeks old now, should I even still bother gettin them vaccinated?
