So I had a neighbor drop off a group of eggs last summer and ask me to incubate them for her, in exchange for keeping some of the poults. I am experienced with chickens and have hatched plenty of Chicken but had never hatched anything else. Anyways, the eggs she gave me she said were all from Royal Palms (however I noticed right away that not all the eggs looked the same). - when they hatched I ended up with several Turkeys and a couple ducks (obviously not a Royal Palm turkey 😉😉) Anyways - we are about 9 months later and I am left with these 3 guys... the two definitely do not look like Royal Palms to me... and the one that does has a very slight tan tinge in its tail. Any ideas what they might be?? Or just a mix?? Also I have no experience with Turkeys - so not sure if they are Male or Female ??... I have seen the one that looks the most like a Royal Palm puff it's tail feathers but only on one occasion - one of the other also has puffed its tail feathers but also very occasionally. There for sure is at least one female bc we recently started getting eggs in the last month - we have collected about 25 eggs. Will include picture of the Turkeys. Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

If they are 9 months old, all three are hens. None are Royal Palms. The one with the most color may be a Calico. They can all be considered Tri-Colors. It is also possible that it is a Sweetgrass.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who are trying to pass Tri-Colors off as being Royal Palms. Most of them don't know any better.

Unless you have another turkey that is a tom, don't waste your time incubating those eggs.

Turkey eggs are good for eating and very good for baking.
