vent? umbillical cord?

i read that cickens have an umbillical cord, is it under their vent, a little black tube, looks like a poo? i thought a bird had a pasty rear but its the only one, and the cord was the only thing there. what is it? it was right below the vent.

Yes, their cord is located under the vent. Just leave it alone and let it fall off on its own (it should once they are a few days old
