Pheasant should have gamebird starter. It is higher in protein and necessary for proper nutrition and development.

    Medicated or non-medicated?

Quote:Doesn't really matter much. I am currently using Purina Start & Grow that is medicated (had a coupon), but have in the past used non-medicated and contrary to what others may say, have had great luck with the parent hatched/reared chicks eating adult rations. Also, had veggies, fruits and livefood such as mealworms and small crickets. Check out gbwf at some of Resolution's posts on diets, very interesting and could change the way you think about commerical diets designed for domestic poultry fed to captive species of wild galliformes.

if you can not find gamebird feed, use turkey grower mash. I've been using it for about 10 years with no problems.
