Wow! I love looking at the old photographs. Its like another Reminisce magazine for me but its free LOL! Look at the prices of the fruits in the store! EL CHEAPO!!!!!!! Back then it was decent priced or a bit much when WWII was going on, everything was rationed.
Did you notice all the kids with bare feet, even in school! My daughter was doing research on the Depression era and the dust bowl out west when she came across these photos. I told her she has to see "The Grapes of Wrath". Great movie!
Those are gorgeous pics! My grandmother has a collection that is similar, but none of them are in color! It's nice to see them! I especially liked the one labeled: "Children stage a patriotic demonstration. Southington, Connecticut, May 1942" The kids with the flags! Nice! Thank you for sharing!
And the women working in factories, eating lunch.....they don't look like they washed their hands so a little oil and grease never did kill them LOL!
