Hi there!

We're new chicken owners and have an americana who seemed to have a swollen nose. When I got closer to look it seems like it was just that there was some crud blocking her nostrils. I tried to gently remove it with a warm wet cloth but our little sweetie just bocked at me, it bled a little bit (no puss or anything) and then I decided to let her go and go see if I can't get some help. here are the pictures I got. Any help or advice would be great! Thanks!

Welcome. Looks like fowl pox. A virus transmitted by mosquitoes. Are you somewhere warm? It should run it's course in 4-6 weeks. It's best to leave the lesion all one so as to not spread it.

Otherwise it could be a wound, but I'm betting on pox.
