I went up to check on my babies on Christmas eve, give them their treats, and one of my RIR's - Runty (pullet) was in the corner bleeding. Upon picking her up and moving her to a tote, I realized that she had - ok this is gross, but it looked like her insides were coming out of her rear end.I am not sure, how or what happened!!![IMG]:hit:hit:hit - After I moved her to the tote, she finally gave up on me....May she rest in chicken heaven!!!!

Yeah, I know what you are saying. I'm still trying to treat mine, from yesterday, but I lost one last week to that too.

Sorry for your loss. Insides outside her rear. Sounds like she had a prolapse and the others may have pecked it bloody. A common cause in backyard flocks besides genetics is overweight hens due to lots of treats like corn.

Thanks for all the replies. I thought she might have prolapsed, it started in the nesting box....[IMG][IMG] - My daughe=ter just told me to push it back in, but there was way too much out to do that......very very sad, she was one of my favs.....
