Very Sick Chicken

    [​IMG]I have a Barred Rock hen she is only 7 months old . She has been sick for the past 5 to 7 day. I thought she was egg bound so I gave her warm baths and put her in a warm place where it was nice and quite for her to rest but no egg after 3 or 4 hours so I have been doing the bath and rubbing her belly and I have her sitting on a heating pad as well. I brought her outside today and it did not go well she fell over and did not have the strenght to get back up I have her back in the house tonite I am so scared to wake up in the morning and she will have died I love all of my chicken the other 7 are doing fine they are being like normal chicken do I would like to see if some one would have some advise on what to do with her where I live there is not any vet that do chicken so I am really upset cause I don't want to lose my precious Pebblesif any one has advise for me please let me know asap thank youhope yo hear from spmeone very soon [​IMG]

    It could be any number of things. She may have internal laying causing egg yolk peritonitis. I hope your girl recovers.

    It could be many things. Try looking up chicken diseases and seeing if she is showing symptoms of any of them. Before you know what it is, it is great that you are keeping her warm, and make sure that she is drinking lots of food and water. You can give her some probiotics, those always help. Has she been wormed lately?

    Thanks for your comcern but when I woke up this morning she has past away[​IMG]my dear Pebble is now gone I will miss her very much nows she is with the angels

    I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Henny Penny 2 days ago and can feel your pain. They are grazing in the greens fields in chicken heaven.
    Henny Penny died in my arms. Our hens know they are loved and that is what keeps me going.
