This chick hatched three days ago. What a time. I could see it was stuck in the shell and I helped it. After all the times I said I wouldn’t, I did anyway. So after I helped it out I put it on a paper towel and put it back in the bator. For the entire day it sat there So I though I would move the towel, here it was stuck to the towel. So out it comes I put it under warm water and got the towel off. Today it’s still sticky so under the water it went again. I can’t get it un-sticky. Is there anything I could use to clean it? If this chick makes it, it’s going to be one spoiled Silkie.

Thats strange. Have you tried washing the chick itself?

Try warm water and lots of cotton buds to wash off the sticky....

Quote:Yep, I put her under the bathroom sink. I did it again and rubed her good so I'm hoping that helped. Her feathers were stuck on her one eye. I used a Q tip for that. She's so little it was hard trying not to get her head under the water.

    I think she's good. Thanks.
