    Good morning,

For 3 years are family has always talked about getting chickens for eggs. So we ventured out and now we are proud parents of 6 of the best chickens in our little North Carolina home. We have 1 sex link, 1 Rhode island red and 4 barred rock. Of course lessons learned when we are told all are hens we might have to study a bit more. So we are thinking we have 3 roosters 1 for sure.
My husband found this site to help us out which we have learned a lot so far.

Hi and [IMG] - glad that you have joined us. Feel free to post pics of your birds on What Breed or Gender is This?

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area -

    All the best

Hello @grahamk and I would love to say [IMG]!
Well I am happy you joined and on behalf of all of us here at BYC I would like to say welcome to our roost! I like your choices of chickens I have Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks and they are both amazing. I am not familiar with Sex Links, but I have heard great things. That is a shame that you may have 3 roosters. I like to have at least 1 in a flock, but any more than that and it can be touch. If you arent sure if they are roos post pics on this What breed or gender forum and you will be able to find out Also some other great links are coming your way and I will leave them here...

I hope you have enjoyed BYC so far and feel free to check out even more of our awesome forums and eventually you will become a "chicken master" lol. I wish you and your flock the best of luck!
