I've been putting apple cider vinegar in the water up till now, mostly to reduce algal growth, but thinking about putting garlic in there. Do people use one or the other? Is there an advantage to using both?

If you use garlic, how do you manage it? Skin on or skin off? Left in how long?

I would go easy on the garlic...from what I understand, it can alter the taste of the eggs...
