Visiting Thelma in the hospital!

Well, my little BO--Thelma, doesn't seem to be getting any better. And for her sake, I made the decision to but her in a large pet crate with shavings and her own water and food.. Barney (our roo) is getting mixed signals from her squatting and she is getting knocked over when they all run to see something.. For three weeks, girls have not paid any attention to Thelma...no pecking or being mean... Today, after I placed her in the crate , EVERY single chicken went and stood in front of the 'hospital' door..watched and cooing loudly! It reminded me of visitation at the hospital but I also KNOW that they were really looking at her food tray!! LOL

I hope that by putting her in the crate she will get her strength back and then I will have to deal with integrating her back into the flock...BUT one step at a time.. IF she is dying at least she will be able to go in peace...Dixie
