Yes they can. And you've got to factor in less losses due to infighting and predation. Doms are much, much better at avoiding being eaten. No winter break, and the ones here laid through molt. ;)
I don't believe that dominiques can come close to RIR.
But, they are better than many options I put.
I will try to add them as an option.

Please, vote for the most balanced, profitable and sustainable layer of brown eggs for a homestead.

Even with their inherent tendency towards reproductive tract problems as they age, nothing can beat the red or black sex links. Your question says nothing about 'breed', hybrid, or other restrictions. Sex links need not be purchased debeaked.

Idk why you're asking people to vote when you are sitting there and telling people how amazing RIR are. What's the point if obviously your biased on breeds?

In my experience RIR I've had laid horribly misshapen eggs and had horrible temperaments with other breeds and hybrids. I wouldn't keep them on ANY homestead that wants a mixed flock because they are bullies.
When making a poll, this is my advice, leave your opinion out of it and listen to the opinion of others. That's how to make a successful poll.
