I had a chick hatch today that has six toes on one foot. His father is a frizzled Silkie/Cochin cross, and Mom is either a white Silkie or a black Silkie/Cochin cross.

I have had all the variants of half toes and webbed toes, but six toes is new to me. The toes all have claws. I am a little befuddled.

Derfinitely not normal but not as strange as you may think. A guy I know that used to win championships with chickens he bred now just breeds for fun with different projects going on. I don't think he is now breeding anything to SOP but just having fun.

He had a chick hatch with six toes. Last I heard, he was trying to develop a line of six-toed Cochin from it.
