I drove.. 4 hrs yesterday to get these( a big swap was being held,so i figured that was my best bet) of coarse despite being up at the crack of dawn, i had a fish tank pump die!
so that held me back a half an hour, the joys, you own animals you know something will always delay you lol
Anyways, i dunno names. been to tired to think of any... one is supposed to be a grey(so mallard) the other a blue...
Their we sleep like were dead pose is enough to rattle the nerves. I have since added more marbles to the waterer, what a pain that is! never had to before i think the pair of them barely equate to the size of a single day old Muscovy lol
They aren't on plain wood this is a shelf where the feed/water sits and cuts back on shavings etc getting in... i have never dealt with anything so darn small, i don't think my chicks even were! there doing well though, they perked up later last night, i do have a 175 on them but there in my house, so it's pretty warm, i just watch for indications they are cold.
They love water of coarse, i guess in another week or so i'll let them in my bath tub for a swim? heck i think one could swim in a coffee mug.
They are just my pets, always wanted some and are not going with the scovies! i have drakes so that would dangerous. I have no idea what i have, clearly 3 choices(drake/drake drake/duck or duck/duck) not sure which i'd prefer on one hand a pair would be cute but stuff breeds to well around here...
Any tips i should know? Storey's guide didn't really say much, i have raised ducks but these seem different, almost fragile... they are on a 18% crumble... it's not chick starter it's an all purpose so good from day 1 for ducks... used it with oodles of my other birds.
Can they ever eat a grower? mine is a pellet not huge but er.. those wee beaks ...
